Are you passionate about Rust programming and have a knack for spotting issues in real-world code? Mercor is looking for skilled Software Engineers (Rust) to join our growing network of contractors and contribute to the future of AI-driven code evaluation.
About the Role
As a Software Engineer – Code Review (Rust), you will be working on analyzing real GitHub issues, pull requests, and test cases. Your role will focus on auditing them for quality to help evaluate AI systems designed to understand, reason about, and fix code across different language ecosystems.
This is a remote, hourly contract position where you’ll have the freedom to work on your own schedule while still being part of a fast-paced and impactful project.
Responsibilities
- Conduct code reviews for Rust-based projects.
- Analyze real-world GitHub repositories, issues, and pull requests.
- Collaborate asynchronously to audit and evaluate AI performance.
- Ensure high standards of code quality, testing, and maintainability.
- Provide insights on CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, and integration testing practices.
Requirements
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
- Strong proficiency in Rust programming language.
- Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects.
- Knowledge of large-scale codebases and Git/GitHub workflows.
- Demonstrated expertise in code review.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, unit, and integration testing.
- Ability to read and interpret real-world issue reports and pull requests.
- Residency in US, Canada, UK, Australia, or New Zealand.
Compensation & Perks
- $85 per hour (20+ hours/week).
- Fully remote and asynchronous – work on your schedule.
- Short-term contract starting immediately.
- Weekly payouts via Stripe Connect.
