About the Role
Porch Group is growing fast—and we’re looking for a Software Engineer I who’s passionate about building scalable backend systems and eager to learn from a world-class remote engineering team. You’ll collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to develop property data extraction tools and services used by millions of homeowners.
This is a fantastic opportunity for early-career engineers looking to make an impact in a high-growth SaaS and InsurTech company.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain backend services using clean, scalable, and well-documented code.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build tools for property attribute extraction using LLMs and regex.
- Participate in technical discussions and code reviews to enhance team learning.
- Learn microservices architecture, CI/CD practices, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP).
- Work closely with US-based business teams and align with EST time zone overlap.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 0–2 years of experience in software development.
- Hands-on experience with SQL (PostgreSQL) and a JVM language (preferably Scala).
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, or cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork mindset.
- Must reside within 150 km of Delhi NCR, Bangalore, or Pune.
