Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Technology is hiring a Data Engineer – Associate to join the Framework CoE team in Bengaluru. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about automation, big data engineering, and building scalable ETL frameworks for cloud-ready environments.
About the Role
As part of the Core Platform Services group, you will help define, enhance, and govern the data platforms that support all Wealth Management development teams. You will be responsible for designing automation frameworks, optimizing Spark/Snowflake jobs, supporting ETL pipelines, and driving innovation across data engineering processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop automation frameworks for ETL processing.
- Enhance and support existing ETL frameworks and act as a technical point of contact.
- Conduct performance tuning for Spark and Snowflake ETL workloads.
- Work on POCs for modern technologies and cloud migration suitability.
- Automate processes and develop utilities for optimization.
- Support application and batch teams with technical issues and queries.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and solution design.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of UNIX Shell, Python, SQL, and Apache Spark.
- Understanding of HDFS, Hive, Impala, and distributed data systems.
- Familiarity with GitHub, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong logical reasoning, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Snowflake, Azure, or AWS.
- Knowledge of IDMC or any modern ETL tool.
