About the Role
L&T Precision Engineering & Systems (DEIC) is looking for a passionate and talented Software Engineer to join the D&DC Land Systems team. This is a great opportunity for fresh graduates or early-career engineers to work on cutting-edge embedded systems, distributed architectures, and real-time operating environments.
As a Software Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and debug high-performance software solutions. You will contribute to building robust and scalable systems for mission-critical applications in defense and precision engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software applications in C & C++.
- Work with Linux, VxWorks, and QNX operating systems.
- Develop software for multi-threaded and multi-process environments.
- Implement inter-process communication (IPC) and distributed system architectures.
- Collaborate with hardware teams for physical layer communications (Serial, Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, NMEA, ModBus).
- Work on IP protocols, VLANs, and Ethernet switching.
- Analyze and resolve complex system scalability and integration issues.
- Participate in customer site issue resolution and debugging.
- Develop diagnostic tools and test codes to enhance reliability and maintainability.
- Use Jira and other development tools for agile project tracking.
Skills & Competencies Required
- Proficiency in C, C++ programming.
- Strong understanding of operating system concepts.
- Hands-on experience with Linux and preferably VxWorks or QNX.
- Experience in multi-threaded and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with network protocols and Ethernet-based communication.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
