Role: Software Engineer
As a Software Engineer at IBM ISDL, you will contribute to the full product life cycle—from design and development to testing and support—across core Systems technologies such as:
- Operating Systems
- Firmware
- Systems & Cloud Software
- Storage Software
- AI & Hybrid Cloud Solutions
You will collaborate with expert teams to build secure, scalable, next-gen enterprise systems that power global industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, code, and test IBM Systems and Cloud Software components.
- Understand product requirements and implement solutions across the development lifecycle.
- Work on validation, performance tuning, debugging, and system optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams globally.
- Support enhancements and platform enablement (including Open Source contributions).
- Build ethical, secure, and scalable AI/ML solutions (for AI Software Engineer track).
Required Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering / Computer Science or related)
Required Technical Expertise
Systems & Cloud Software Engineer
- Operating Systems, Kubernetes, Containers, Cloud concepts
- Virtualization, OpenStack, Security, REST APIs, DevOps/CI
- Strong programming: C, C++, Go, Python, Ansible, Shell
- GitHub & open-source workflow familiarity
AI Software Engineer
- AI/ML/DL concepts, Jupyter, Linux, Kubernetes, REST APIs
- Programming: C, C++, Python, R, Go
- ML/DL frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, XGBoost
- NLP, data pipelines, open-source databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)
Preferred Skills
- Java, GoLang, ReactJS
- OpenShift, Microservices Architecture
- Storage concepts (SAN, NAS, DAS), RAID, File systems
- Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Automation scripting (Bash, PowerShell)
- Cloud storage (AWS S3, Azure Blob, GCP Storage)
- Backup & recovery tools (Veeam, Commvault)
