Your Impact
As an Associate Software Engineer, you will:
- Curate, design, and catalogue high-quality data models to ensure reliability and accessibility.
- Build highly scalable data processing frameworks across diverse datasets and applications.
- Deliver data-driven insights critical to Goldman Sachs’ decision-making processes.
- Understand, evaluate, and integrate existing and potential datasets in engineering and business contexts.
Responsibilities
- Deploy modern data management tools to curate and streamline datasets, models, and processes.
- Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
- Engineer and optimize streaming data processing pipelines.
- Drive adoption of cloud technologies for data processing and warehousing.
- Collaborate with data consumers and producers to design robust, scalable models.
Skills & Experience We’re Looking For
- Experience: 1–6 years (Analyst/Associate level) in a team-focused environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or related quantitative field (Master’s preferred).
- Programming: Proficiency in more than one language (Java, Python, C++, C#, etc.).
- Strong understanding of domain-driven design and complex business applications.
- Expertise in data curation, quality, security, performance latency, and correctness.
- Proficiency with relational and columnar SQL databases and database design.
- Familiarity with business processes, data flows, and quantitative models.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Commercial mindset with a strong sense of urgency and ownership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the financial services industry.
- Exposure to the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Spark).
