Role Summary:
We’re seeking a Software Engineer I – Online Backend to design and develop scalable, distributed backend systems that power EA’s online gameplay services. You’ll be part of a global team developing features like matchmaking, leaderboards, achievements, and more—impacting millions of players every day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and enhance backend services and APIs for online gameplay.
- Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features.
- Support live environments and maintain automated testing frameworks.
- Advocate for best engineering practices and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Strong coding skills in Go, C#, or C++.
- Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform.
- Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and distributed systems.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with Jenkins, Groovy, Ansible.
- Familiarity with gRPC, Protobuf, and high-traffic systems.
- Understanding of scalable data technologies (Cassandra, Spark, AWS S3).
- Background in gaming industry development is a plus.
