About the Role
As a Software Engineer (0–2 years experience), you will design and implement robust data pipelines, ETL frameworks, cloud-native architectures, and contribute to the development of our enterprise Data Lake platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver highly scalable, resilient, and secure data solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and ETL workflows using cloud-native tools.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain Clarivate’s Data Lake Platform.
- Apply best practices in Big Data management, architecture, and disaster recovery.
- Work with AWS services—EMR, Glue, S3, EC2, Lambda, RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL.
- Collaborate with business and engineering teams to support scalable data solutions.
- Improve data quality and ensure solutions meet performance SLAs.
- Produce documentation, standards, and reusable patterns for data engineering.
About You – Skills & Qualifications
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 0–2 years of experience in software/data engineering.
- Strong understanding of distributed data processing, ETL, and cloud-native design.
- Experience with database design, SQL/PL-SQL, XML, JSON.
- Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java.
- Experience working in Agile Scrum/Kanban environments.
Desirable Skills
- Big Data technologies: Apache Spark, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, Hadoop, Hive, Snowflake, Databricks.
- RDBMS: PostgreSQL, Oracle, AWS RDS.
- Cloud & DevOps: Kubernetes, message queues, schedulers.
- Hands-on with data modeling, MDM, CMS design, and automated DB migration tools.
