About the Team:
The Credit & Fraud Risk (CFR) Analytics & Data Science Center of Excellence (CoE) at Amex drives profitable growth by leveraging advanced analytics, big data, and machine learning. The team’s mission is to improve risk management, combat fraud, and deliver the world’s best customer experience through data-driven decisions.
Role Overview:
As an Analyst – Data Science, you’ll work on predictive modeling, business insights, and machine learning projects that influence millions of customer decisions globally. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative data solutions that strengthen Amex’s financial ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, deploy, and validate predictive models for risk, fraud, and marketing use cases.
- Analyze large datasets to uncover actionable business insights.
- Design intelligent data solutions using machine learning and big data technologies.
- Collaborate across teams to present analytical findings to leadership.
- Stay updated on emerging trends in finance, payments, and analytics.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
- 0–30 months of experience in data analytics or big data environments.
- Proficiency in Python, R, SAS, SQL, Hive, Spark.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Experience with machine learning models, including decision trees, reinforcement learning, and Bayesian models.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong background in coding, algorithms, and high-performance computing.
- Exposure to advanced ML frameworks and MapReduce techniques.
