Job Role: Product Validation Engineer – Portable SSD (pSSD)
As a pSSD Product Validation Engineer, you’ll play a key role in validating next-generation portable SSD products. You will be working with USB3.x/USB4 front-end interfaces and NVMe SSD back-end technologies while collaborating with architecture, firmware, and automation teams to deliver world-class storage solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute test plans, test cases, and automation scripts for pSSD products.
- Validate SSDs across multiple market segments (Mainstream+, Essential, Desktop, Retail).
- Drive validation functions: platform compatibility, power & performance, reliability, safety, and compliance.
- Collaborate with system architecture and test automation teams to define validation infrastructure.
- Debug USB protocol issues using protocol analyzers (USB, NVMe/PCIe).
- Partner with firmware development teams to identify, reproduce, and validate defect fixes.
- Track, review, and document test results while driving issues to closure.
- Communicate status, risks, and validation strategies effectively to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Electronics, or related Engineering fields.
- Experience: 0–2 years in NVMe SSD Validation or Systems Design Verification.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of USB protocols, NVMe/PCIe specifications.
- Debugging experience with Lecroy/JDSU analyzers.
- Familiarity with Whitebox & Greybox test methods.
- Knowledge of Linux OS debugging and Python scripting.
- Understanding of FTL, media management, firmware test hooks, and VS commands.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and project management skills.
