You’ll be joining the Marketing Technologies Platform Team, which powers billions of customer communications daily across the globe. This team is at the heart of eBay’s personalization efforts, delivering timely and engaging experiences to our diverse user base.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Software Engineer (Java Developer) who is enthusiastic, motivated, and eager to learn. Whether you are a recent graduate or an early-career professional, this is a golden opportunity to grow with mentorship from senior engineers while contributing to impactful projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and debug clean and efficient Java code for new features.
- Assist in bug fixing and issue resolution.
- Participate in unit and integration testing.
- Collaborate with developers, QA, and product owners to deliver quality solutions.
- Learn and apply modern software engineering best practices.
- Contribute to technical documentation and code reviews.
- Provide support for existing applications.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 0–2 years of experience (or strong academic projects) in Java development.
- Strong foundation in Core Java, OOP, data structures, and algorithms.
- Basic knowledge of relational databases & SQL.
- Familiarity with AI-powered code generation tools (GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience with Git or other version control systems.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Exposure to Spring Boot and REST APIs.
- Familiarity with Maven/Gradle build tools.
- Experience with JUnit testing frameworks.
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or Docker.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
